I'm fortunate to have one who's neither arrogant nor egotistical, but, like many of us, is frustrated that he is seriously curtailed from practicing medicine and is instead, checking boxes for the insurance companies who pay my bills and his income.
My only regret is I'll probably outlive him and have to find another trustworthy doctor.

As I read this I was thinking of my son who is an ENT resident . He is not arrogant at all however as a newer doc is is well trained in getting along to go along . Med school taught him his job is not to rock the boat if he wants to do anything of value for his patients. He questioned conventional wisdom much more prior to med school. I hope his deeply curious self reappears like a lion one day soon.
