Many years ago I received a letter at my work. The address was my own ,but from the backyard. Huh? I opened it and it was a Mother’s Day card from my dog’s. I have never forgotten the joy and smile it brought me so this year I sent one to my neighbor from her dogs.
This is the sweetest thing ever!!! Dog moms totally count! We clean up poop, barf, we hold them when they are scared of thunder and fireworks, we let them sleep with us when they are sick or hurt…..Happy Mother’s Day to you from one dog mom to another!! ♥️
That is soooo sweet for your brother to have started this! (So your dogs didn't have to stress not being able to write and afford paper and stamps. 😉😊😂)
Most people I know don't even like dogs. SMH. I don't get it at all.
I've had dogs starting at age 6. Some snuggle and hug, some just do one or the other, a few have done neither. Those were the ones that had been abused before they were mine, but even they unconditionally loved.
Dogs, IMHO, are angels, because who else would love you like that, no matter what?
I cannot understand people who don’t like dogs. I think it says a lot about their personality or inner workings.
Lucky you to have grown up with dogs. I think they help give kids a look at compassion and their ability to love. I got my first one after I moved out. A beagle of course and I’ve had 3 beagles just because of Snoopy. But you have to know what you’re getting into with them.
Yes my day with Sam was a good one. She’s lucky that I’m home with her all day. We take a daily walk where she gets to run off leash and there’s rarely anyone around us.
One of my favorite bands, the Rainmakers (from MO, had a brief era of national radio play in the 80's) has a song you'll like - makes fun of people who don't like dogs - https://rainmakers.bandcamp.com/track/like-dogs
That being said, we've never had dogs, hubby and I grew up with dogs, but we're not home enough, and dogs need a lot of attention, and it wouldn't be fair to them. We have cats, but my son & his wife have 3 dogs and my MIL has 2, so can get our dog fix without the responsibility.
I understand that if you don’t have the time for dogs. I just can’t imagine my life without one. I had an out of control puppy and I’d get up very early to take her for a walk and then another after work. But my weekends were theirs.
Cats are great pets too. I would love to get one, but I’m not a morning person like they are. Maybe one day.
Happy Mother's Day Jennifer! Have a great day! Peace.

Yes! We DO count! We love them just like we would our "real" kids and they love us back unconditionally.
This is the sweetest thing ever!! You just made my heart full reading this! ♥️
I agree. I always tear up when I tell this story. My brother started it and mom continued after he died.
Ruff time of year with both gone and his birthday is tomorrow.
Absolutely dog moms count today for all the reasons you mentioned and for the absolute joy they give.
Scritches to your dog from my Sam and have a great day.
God bless you for being a great doggie mom and for this being a hard time of year.

Seriously, it was a super sweet thing to do!
It was. I showed the card to everyone at work and they laughed too.
Now that you know maybe you can brighten some dog mom’s day too.
Thank you. I’ve only had dogs and they have all been my life. Almost everything I do they are included.
Isn’t their unconditional love just something? My Sam loves to snuggle and give hugs.
I hope you had a great day!

Perfect song. Thanks.
