Dog and cat vaccination mirrors precisely child vaccination – an alluring promise of safety, “supported by science”, variously mandated, income stream for the practitioner, covertly causing chronic illness and cancer, victim having no voice in the matter, another clown world triumph. I decided to stop vaccinating my dog back in 2019. My vet was pushing annual vaccines for shots that were supposed to last 3 years saying it doesn’t hurt to still give them annually. My dog is under 7 lbs and I knew he was already getting a dose they’d give an 80+ lb dog so giving him 3 shots annually didn’t sit well. I also couldn’t help but think how much more revenue he would be getting charging $15 for each shot annually instead of every three years. A friend took her dog to a different vet in town and they refused to see her dog that needed emergency care unless she agreed to vaccinate. Seems to be the trend lately, if you don’t agree to the vaccines/medications you don’t get medical care. My dog is 15.5 now and hasn’t had any shots in 5.5 years. Fortunately my vet hasn’t pushed me and knows my position. However, when you make this choice you can’t board them at most facilities and need to find other options. There is always a carrot and more often a stick when making choices to opt out.

Dr FT:

Are there any true vaccines made anymore? Are they all "products" of modern chemistry, with opaque standards? Can you actually prevent anything, or is "Medicine" merely a knee-jerk response to illness?!

Let the blood-letting begin!

What the *$+x! is going on?

Yup, stopped vaccinating mine long ago and curiously none have died from a lack of vaccines. And I do rescue work so I have a ton of dogs

Yup, I've got 5 cats fostered. Only had their original rabies jabs. They are 6yrs old now...indoor/outdoor guys. Very healthy. They occasionally get worms. I put dab of ivermectin in mouth. All good.

Unless you're friends with a vet, this doesn't shock.

In my case, my vet practitioner is a husband/wife owned country practice with a supremely pragmatic approach to animal care. (Even though Dr Malone lives nearby!)

On the other hand, my brother's fur babies are tended by experto-crats who are themselves young, impressed with the new "science" and sure, Very Sure that jabs are holy.

While agree with the thought here, my sister lost her dog to exposure to wild animals (I can't temember the disease) but the vax was usually in a 7 way shot. He vet ony gave her dog a 5 way. Most new Vets have thought the disease prevention isn't that much a threat and so often don't include it. It seems dogs that run the woods etc are more susceptible. Whatever it is is in the urine of some wild animals. It killed her dog in 2-3 days. She was devastated.

Maybe read abd become more informed what the different shots are for and be more selective. I'd be the same with our kids and ourselves.

My 1 year old dog got the puppy shots. Got parvovirus anyway. Survived and the vet said to bring her back in 6 months to get a parvovirus shot. Ehh?

None of her doggy playmates got it from her and they play close with lots of saliva being exchanged. Another scam that it’s spread by close contact? You betcha.

Thanks for bringing this up. It’s a very important topic and one that has been ignored far too long.

I’ve been against vaccinating my pets for decades because if vaccines for kids aren’t truly tested for safety then what are the chances they are safe for pets.

And veterinarians know damn well that they cause cancer because they changed where the shots are given.

"Give them in the leg because it can be amputated if cancer….if in the neck there’s no cure!

I got rousted by animal control the other day…I refused to give my name and gave them an old phone number that’s under my dead dad’s name.

We were boarding a cat and were told by vet she needed leukemia shot. Her breathing quality went down and she developed respiratory issues leading to death 2 years later.

I have zero trust for these DVM clinics since COVID. In Reno, they all stopped allowing you to accompany your pet for any reason when you took them to the vet. At the time I was in close contact with the CMO of Nevada and he told me there was no guidance offered to Vet clinics or mandates. That they all got together and figured this would be much more profitable. I have to keep up on Rabies vaccines or trim my Scottie myself as pet trimming places insist on vaccinations. You have to hand it to these drug companies, they left no stone unturned to push their product/poison on every civilized living creature.

My dog cannot go to the groomer without his shots. A city dog license is required, and it is also withheld unless the dog is vaccinated. I don't think he needs the shots, and they are expensive, but I don't feel like there's any choice. It's a racket.
