Well said Jennifer. I am retired. Was not a healthcare provider but i have researched the problems with the covid vaccine and other vaccines. I have a retired friend who knew i had done this research and asked me for an opinion on if she should get the RSV vaccine. She has COPD and i sent her studies that at least on children, the RSV vaccine had negative efficacy. So she did not get the RSV vaccine and about a month later had to be rushed to the hospital in middle of the night because she had RSV and could not breathe. Well dont you know i felt awful that i recommend that she not get the RSV vax. So i see your conundrum on a large scale. A real Catch 22😟.

Don’t feel bad friend……with COPD, she has a much higher likelihood that any respiratory illness could cause an exacerbation that could land in a hospital visit. Shot or no shot. She has a great friend in you!! ♥️

Thanks Jennifer. That makes me feel better. I know last time i was in contact with her she made sure to tell me she was getting a bunch of vaccines but spreading them out. She is doing what she feels is best for her.

I have firsthand experience with Dr. Funtimes approach to treating “The Patient”. The thing that impressed me right off the bat was that she LISTENED to me. I hadn’t encountered that approach in a medical setting for a very long time. Once she had determined what MY treatment goals were, she developed a plan. The goals changed over time and Dr. Funtimes adapted the plan. Don’t get me wrong, Dr. Funtimes is not a pushover. She will set you straight if you are on the wrong track. I have never felt like I was serving her agenda. It is medical care about me. I believe it takes tremendous bravery/integrity on her part to treat the patient. Not push an agenda. I consider myself fortunate to have stumbled into her practice. My life is better for it.

It's difficult to be a caring person working inside a soulless system. This was the dilemma of Winston in 1984 who slowly realized the insanity of the upside-down world of Big Brother. Winston, like most people, decided to give up his humanity to survive. Health care providers find themselves in a similar situation. Big Pharma/Big Government is Big Brother. The solution is to change the system, but as you point out that's far easier said than done.

Thought I would add some anecdotal evidence here.

Back in 2002 my mom received an open MRI, which was standard, I guess, back then and it came back clear. In 2003 we hopped from specialist to specialist after she came down with some pretty alarming symptoms of "tasting salty" all the time and finding her own bed uncomfortable. Finally, as her symptoms got progressively worse and diagnostic tools were not working here in the Atlanta area, we did a lightning round at the Mayo in Florida where it was finally discovered that my mother who was a lifelong chain smoker, had lung cancer. One of the medical professionals told me a closed MRI would have caught this. My mom was prone to claustrophobia so she had gone for the less constricting closed MRI.

I am so sorry friend. But man what a great example!!! I am so glad you shared this!!!!

Open MRI in those days was not the best detecting technology. Nowadays, it is better. But not as much back then. Closed MRI was hands down the standard, and I am guessing they weighed the pro/con to her being claustrophobic and gave her the comfortable option, versus not getting one done at all due to her fear of closed spaces.

They met her where she was…..and sadly the outcome wasn’t what anyone wanted. A missed lung cancer that had way too much time to keep going without intervention. That costs people time and life. Bless her heart……. These situations are the hard ones that stay with you when you work in healthcare. We never forget those “what if’s”. Thank you for sharing this!! ♥️

Is it magic?

When i crossed the 50yr mark, i discovered how listening to my body, doing due diligence and rejecting the Experts' boilerplate advice worked better than the hope of eventual cures and continued treatment.

I have a long way to go at 65.

"Idiopathic" is pharmaspeak for "we have you by the gonads" (man-centered technical term).

My observations aren't clouded by the allopathic crap the doctors prescribed as forever drugs. No statin. No SSRI. No anti-inflammatory.

Less "treatment", more healthy choices and consumption.

Especially... insightful info from Dr FT to consume.

Pre-50, I wasn't ready to hear anything contrary to modern chemistry. I thought wrong, and couldn't admit i knew so little.

There is a lot of truth here friend!! I do think you have to be at a point where you have seen/done/learned enough stuff to go wait a minute…..this just doesn’t add up and it is time to do my own research!!!!

You are smart and savvy and that will ensure an amazing healthy journey!! ♥️

I read you loud and clear.

Unfortunately, we live in a country where the successful brainwashing of Americans has succeeded where all those who are "victims" now demand bigger and more government, come hell or high water.

My company rolled out 10 new benefits this past January 1.

Eight of the ten are MENTAL!

I have seen many changes in the past 10 years working at this company.

Employees are using on breaks with no consequences.

The managers are incompetent college graduates.

(I am not making this up) One actually lives with his mother in the basement!!!!

Out of the approximately twelve managers I see during my shifts (many shifts overlap), ONE has experience with teenagers. One has a baby. The rest have ZERO children.

We have, for the first time in at least seven decades, a VIGOROUS President, which is why the screaming and temper tantrums are so loud among those who have never heard anything other than affirmation their entire lives.

Jennifer, you are becoming as rare as a unicorn with your competence.

Be careful, or they will demand you have a lobotomy.

I chuckle a bit reading this because you describe it so well!!! And it is true!!!!! Sad state of affairs we have spiraled into. I could write a book on just this topic that you explained so well…..literally an epidemic!!
