My response online when people argue about long Covid is two fold. First, that like you mentioned in your article, not only is their fatigue and issues when recovering from any illness. Post viral syndromes are common. Second, if "Long Covid" is unusual, if all this was because this was a manufactured bio weapon infused with something that makes us immune compromised say an AIDS like element to it, the time is way past to level with us about it. In truth, it would explain a lot, why so many useless programs were put in place, why so many ineffective and now harmful treatments were pushed. This smacks of desperation and if such "gain of function" can be proven, then please show it. That's what my tinfoil "writer conspiracy" hat offers as one of the few viable explanations. Otherwise the Occam's Razor of this is "incompetent people running the show" that did something for the sake of doing something.
This ties in nicely with the severity of covid infections while wearing masks (ie deep re-inhalation of viral particles when trapped in a mask). Checking your posts out now! Thank you!

Conspiracy theorists have a winning record over the past 10 years, by a wide margin.

The quoted Cochrane report says that masks capture exhaled coronavirus, i.e. reduce transmission from infected people to previously uninfected people.
