Switching things up a bit today…..
How many of you are familiar with the New Madrid fault? It runs right along the Mississippi River along the Missouri/Tennessee/Arkansas border.
In 1811, there was a series of 7.0 and greater quakes on the New Madrid fault line. The main shock was so strong, the Mississippi River ran backwards for a week or so. A new lake was created due to the ground shifting and water from the river running into a newly formed basin. Geologists have found “scarring” clear into Tennessee from ridges that shifted during this quake.
What many may not know is this fault line is far from quiet. Here is the last 6 months of quakes just along the primary fault line:
There are quakes weekly, at bare minimum. Last week on May 16th was very active, with 4 separate quakes, one measuring 3.8.
Why am I sharing this information? Because many people do not know this fault line exists, that it is active, it is at risk of having an “big one” and oh wait, INSURANCE COMPANIES already know that! St. Louis cannot afford earthquake insurance because premiums are so high due to the risk of New Madrid “popping off”. We had earthquake insurance quoted for our home clear across the state and I was shocked at how little insurance would pay for if we have earthquake damage. If this fault line was of little risk, it would be cheap insurance to purchase. Some geologists have said that if there is a significant quake along New Madrid, the damage spread would be a diameter reaching into Kansas, Iowa, Tennessee/Kentucky and possibly further north and south.
Just yet one more thing to keep your eye on.
Don't y'all wish that the data produced by Insurance actuarials was publicly available instead of proprietary info?
I have an acquaintance who is EXTREMELY gifted in statistical/math/actuarial science, admittedly Asperger's social-psych challenged who was scooped up out of grad school to work for an international insurance association.
Through a game of how can-you-answer-without-violating-your-NDA, I assessed from the Q&A that most of the WuFlu health and science scandals are real. You can unravel the how and who; that onion is peeling, but no one can know why. It's a sick, money grubbing world out there.
Hope the San Andreas beats it to the draw. 😂Actually, I wouldn’t wish that on anyone even the Left coast. Having said, Insurance actuaries study real world data and produce results based on objective best evidence that’s why they were ahead of the curve on all causes deaths after the vaccine rollout. It is still costing them a lot of extra money as is the hurricane flood damage caused by homeowners insisting on buying homes right next to water on dredged up sand barsin Florida. Spoiler: that is not a complication of warming.
