The Missouri law blocking gender affirming care has SHUT DOWN the mutilation clinics.

Washington University and Childrens Hospital in St Louis came under fire first after a whistleblower from the clinic called them out for the dangerous impact their care had on kids. Missouri passed new legislation banning any new transition patients as of August 28th, but they allowed current patients to continue their gender transition “journey”. However, that law also included a little clause that allowed patients to sue these gender affirming providers for up to $500,000 in medical malpractice if an issue arose. Due to THAT part of the law, Washington U and Childrens hospital stopped ALL gender affirming care period. Even the kids already on hormones, etc. The clinic is now shut down.

Meanwhile, Children’s Mercy in Kansas City has this to offer:https://www.childrensmercy.org/departments-and-clinics/gender-pathway-services/

They have changed their website to now be a “gender pathway” webpage that is 1 page long. No longer mentions surgeons/hormones/therapists etc. They offer a “support network” for the individual “pathway” with gender identity. Interesting to note that their phone number is on the Kansas side not the Missouri side. It appears they stripped down their gender offerings off their website as well. No mention of ongoing care, etc. Just lists a phone number to call. Kansas laws have not restricted gender surgery and hormones to the extent Missouri did, so Childrens Mercy will funnel everyone over there to their Kansas location.
