This is not about illegals vs citizens. It's about a class war that is being waged as a race to the bottom for workers. This is precisely why unions were created.

In what universe does it make sense to hire talented skilled workers from other countries and pay them less, leaving massive unemployment for the workers already in the country and who DO have skills, but who also earned the right to make a decent living. The oligarchs are clearly waging a war that workers thought they had won.

Ultimately, it creates a two tiered society of citizens barely making enough to survive and the obscenely wealthy who game the system at every turn to take advantage of the fact that workers are not mobile enough or organized enough to fight back. I hate capitalism and its emphasis on profit at all costs.

If capitalism was design to cover all the externalities of cost - to the environment, workers, etc. - it simply wouldn't exist. It's taxpayers who subsidize capitalism and enable the predatory class to exploit workers until every last drop of blood has been drained from their bodies. This is the behaviour of cancer.

In the end, even the oligarchs will eat their own. Nobody wins. Most especially our children and future generations.

If you hate Capitalism, how do you feel about the 100,000,000+ that Communism intentionally killed in the last century? Just wondering...

False logic. Your comment arrogantly and ignorantly presumes that there are only two options. Of course communism is not acceptable either. BOTH exploit workers. BOTH exploit and destroy the natural world. It's this kind of narrow thinking that keeps us stuck in a system that serves only the oligarchs.

A functional solution that comes closest to a just and fair economic paradigm would be cooperative: owned and managed by those doing the work and one which would account for the needs of the natural world. Indigenous cultures had/have many of the ideal attributes of a viable economic system which doesn't exploit or abuse the living world.

However, we are a species that would rather destroy each other, destroy our biosphere and destroy future generations than give careful thought to decisions we make that may be detrimental to our very existence on the planet. That is the logic of a psychopath. That is the logic of ALL economic systems today.
