Ayn Rand couldn't have said it better. If she were alive today, I'm sure she would be saying "I tried to tell you"

I always felt she was trying to tell us (in simple terms), to take care of yourself (the individual) and society will be fine.

Thank you for your wise encouragement and thoughtful posts. We'll be here fighting alongside for 2023. ❤️

Thank you, Jennifer, for sharing your thoughts.

I too have had to reorient myself in so many ways, but the circumstances have demanded it. Though it was not easy or quick, the abuse and deception has required us to rethink our assumptions and reanalyze the world around us. Hopefully more people will also take on this necessary challenge as we cannot move forward productively with old mindsets.

My best to you in the new year.

I lost my job for refusing the vaccine in September 2021. Your Substack has helped to lift me up (along with others on this site) and keep the faith. Thanks so much.

Oh dear, I've been 100% with you until now. The "real self" concept is the wrong direction, very wrong. The real self is a narcissist. The real self embodies every sin listed in the Bible and in the natural law. (See "Written on the Heart" by j. Budziszewski.) Religion is not the enemy, at least not Christianity and Judaism... even to some extent Islam, under certain circumstances. It is true that all religions can be cooped to serve the powerful... every society has examples of this. There are many countries that, today, use religion to control the population; that is the leaders of those countries. But to make this short and not a treatist, the US is unique in being founded on the ethics, morality, and the dependence of those on a greater power, God, with Jesus Christ, through his life and words, showing us how to live. It is that which is our objective. I stand with courage against all that has happened, and was informed by my religion, from the beginning of this about what was right or wrong. Of course I have a PhD in these fields and have practiced AI for more than half a century, but that was a gift given to me to help discern. The courage and wisdom to discern was given to me by my creator. The laws and Constitution were given to us by men of the Judeo-Christian faith. Our founding documents would not be there without Judeo-Christianity as a foundation for understanding man. And believing in God (and the forgiveness of sins offered through the death of Jesus Christ). So I can't stand with the concept of becoming the real self. My real self is not worthy of leading in, or even participating in any effort to combat what is happening. It has no courage, it has no hope, it has no willingness to sacrifice. It is selfish; it is self centered. Without my religion, I would, through training and career, be one of the elite oligarchy controlling you. Forgive me if I have offended you, but this is important.

No offense at all!! We are all unique wings with our own thoughts and decisions, experiences, education, etc. what a boring world if we all thought alike!!!

Real self (to me) is not falling for the propaganda and being strong in your own truth. I think we both feel that way my friend!

I should have also added that I 100% agree with the religious beliefs our country was founded on. What I don’t agree with is the new church council that has hijacked most “churches” and mind feeds propaganda. How many churches willlingly complied with masks and shut downs? So again, from my angle, the real self is able to unlock the shackles of the mind of the masses and independently and critically think. ♥️

Within my own circle, we have agreed, with counsel from psychologists and historians (me, primarily) that undoing what has blossomed over the past 10 years or so, with the current generation, will require 50 years to undo (2 generations). Though the immediate temptation is to push through legislation, which we are doing, the reconstruction begins with the turn in the practice of church leaders, and the sheeple who follow them. The Christian church (and Jewish Synogogue) is going to have to lead us out of this, but reformation is the prerequisite. It is underway. The Methodists, the Episcopals, the Catholics, and, I presume, others, are all under seige. I should point out, with much delight, that many of the most dedicated, talented, and outspoken leaders of our movement are Jewish. I am concerned, as I think you are really saying yourself, that the secularist will not have the COURAGE of conviction to stand against the regime that has been created. Or the wisdom to discern.

You are absolutely correct. Add me to the two generations to turn this around camp with you and your circle. We lost the ability to discern and critically think our way through the fog that we have been taught to believe. I pray that people will be able to “wake up” from that fog!

I was raised Lutheran. The “establishment” has hijacked what I knew church to be in the 1980’s. It has led me to spend less time in a pew and more time in the Bible reading scripture and connecting with it on a very personal level. I have watched how the “church” has become a political regime that regurgitates what the “bishop and the synod” want them to tell their congregations. When they closed down worship due to covid I knew we were hijacked and coming back was going to be very hard. It was probably a blessing in disguise for me, as it truly led me back to the word of God and not merely the weekly sermon from the pastor in the pulpit. Finding our relationship with God is the most important thing we can do, not just following what the synod leaders want us to do. I love the information you shared today! I have been traveling all day so I am finally getting a chance to absorb your words even more. Wise words, and so true. The ego of the individual is part (a lot) of what got us into this mess. Having the courage to unlearn and relearn are a must! ❤️

Said with elegance and grace. When people challenge their self and get outside their comfort zone, this is where they truly learn, become self aware, and find their inner strengths.
