Before we jump the shark here, I will say that all sorts of viral components are found in sexual fluids. We have found covid virus and vaccine shedding in semen and vaginal fluids. There are many things transmitted via bodily fluids.
The reason THIS article is interesting is because of the article the CDC posted about monkey pox safety the other day. It requires intimate contact to contract monkey pox. Skin to skin with a blister or the seminal fluids of an infected person. What makes this interesting is that much like OTHER sexually transmitted infections, such as herpes, chlamydia, and gonorrhea, it is NOT AIRBORNE. Monkey pox is not airborne. The one day CDC release about wearing a face mask to prevent monkey pox was rescinded a day later when they faced so much backlash that the covid vaccine induced shingles…..er, I mean “monkey pox” is not airborne.
Now we have THIS study. Testing of seminal fluids in those infected with monkey pox. The viral concentrations in the fluids were “capable” of transmitting the virus to others. That is a sexually transmitted infection by any textbook definition.
This ties in well with the CDC guidelines I posted about the other day and the warnings they gave about “safe sex” practices. It also backs up the reports of the outbreak cases occurring primarily between men having sex with other men.
Ethical skeptic is a good resource thanks
Dr. Brown what about the 50 new mutations. Previous studies show one or two per year. Are they responsible for the increase in infectiousness leading to out of community spread. What does science say in general about the appearance of this many mutations is so short a time
