Kansas City has made several awful cultural contributions. My favorite (actually least favorite) was made by a property developer named J.C. Nichols. He invented the Home Owner’s Association (HOA) enabling petty tyrants everywhere. The next time your HOA threatens to sue you using the money you paid in dues, remember to thank J.C. Nichols. HOA tyrants want to tell you what color to paint your house and collect your dues before you die.

Oh my gosh JC Nichols deserves his own post he was so awful! Should make people pause when they want to visit the Plaza and see his name plastered over everything.

It is a mixed bag of Good and evil among those who amass large wealth - invariably, it seems to me, at least in part through evil means. Some try to balance the past wrong of their evil ways by becoming a "Philanthropist".

Others seem to "understand" the usefulness of being seen to do some good that their evil may live on and, for a time, flourish. Their foundations digging their hole deeper as those so employed enrich themselves as the busy working evil.

"aggressive pharma sales" merging with an acquisition of Dow Chemical , Death Or Worse agent orange D O W Chemical may have the makings of a unholy merger.
