I was working in a hospital that was run by nuns back in the 80's and it had a family vibe to it with all departments being friendly with each other until the day they sold their administrative duties and a business type CEO was installed. After that it seemed that every department was on its own and the family vibe went away. I have been involved in health care for 46 years and I can see how much it has changed over the decades. I agree that healthcare went away when hospitals were sold to the hedge funds whose only role is to suck as much money out of them as possible. I feel bad for those who still want to help people, but now see it as drudge work because they are being stretched too far. I definitely saw the difference last time I was in the hospital.
