This story emphasizes why I highly recommend you either distill or reverse osmosis your water. And no, the charcoal filter on your fridge isn’t gonna cut it.
The tap water in Kansas City has had a funky smell for a few days. But never fear……the water department ensures that even if it looks and smells gross…..it is totally safe to drink.

The “reason” given is rains and runoff upstream from the KC portion of the river. Well, it rains a lot here and water runoff happens all the time, so unsure what makes this rainy event special in the gross smelly water issue.
Those that have been following along for awhile know my stance on water…..the tap is ick and filtering it is healthier water to cook/drink/bathe with. This current round of sulphur stink tap water here is enough to reinforce my stance.

Meanwhile here in upstate NY, we just received a letter in the mail saying that our tap water contains lead. Not to worry though folks as it is below the amount that they are required to do anything about it and should you be concerned you can pass the word around by distributing copies of the notice on your own (yep it actually said that). The water authority would also like you to know they remain committed to transparency. How hard is it to get clean water, clean air and clean food? Apparently very when they don’t want you healthy or alive!
