Read that again. Benefit is low to very low, while risks are a growing concern.
Now that transexuals have undermined the medical profession, they are moving on to religion. Trans activists and universities are discussing establishing churches that believe "God created more than two sexes." They hope this would allow them to use a "religious" exemption to continue medicating and operating on psychiatrically unstable people.

Have the monsters of medicine ever been up front about the risks of the procedures and drugs they prescribe? No...informed consent is not in their toolbox and neither is knowing what the risks are well enough to explain them.
