When Substack leads you on a roadtrip to Georgia…….and you leave a little bit of your heart in the Peach State.
When I started writing this substack 27 months ago, I truly had no idea where the journey would take me. Heck, I was not sure anyone would even read it!! I just knew I had things to say and this was the forum to do so.
One of my amazing followers from Georgia reached out a few months ago via email. He expressed his appreciation for what I write, and said that he has a group of friends that get together every other week for coffee and conversation about the happenings in our world, and he had shared a few of my substack articles with them. He said “I know this is probably a long shot, but if you ever make it down to Georgia, we would love to host you at one of our gatherings”.
Little did he know….my husband and I were planning our yearly Harley trip and this year we were going to the Smoky Mountains. I looked up where we were staying, where he lived, and it was a short 159 mile trip. So I emailed him back and said “hey we could make this work!”
The months of planning and preparation came to fruition over the last 24 hours. When I say that I have met some of the most hospitable, gracious, kind, and generous people, that would be an understatement. They opened their home and hosted us for a delicious dinner last night, and this morning we had the absolute honor and privilege of gathering as a group of 10-12 and discussed covid, treatment, vaccinations, mental illness, how to eliminate the homeless problem, the destruction from rioting…..and everything in between. Myself and my husband, an insurance broker, joined retired physicians, psychologists, chemists, biochemists, engineers, landscape architects, many of them published in scientific journals and have authored their own books……a genuine meeting of the minds with the same goal: how to we make sure that the Pandemic hysteria never happens again, how do we keep ourselves safe and protected, how do we all come together as ONE, as AMERICANS, to turn this country around. What an absolutely phenomenal group of people!!!
I will remember the past 24 hours for as long as I live. We hope to return sooner than later and meet up again for more coffee, conversation, and dissecting the issues we face in this world. Southern hospitality is not just a slogan, it is a way of life here in Georgia. I not only gained new friends today, they are all part of the truth movement family as well.
Thank you thank you thank you for opening your hearts, minds, and homes to me and my husband. Absolutely one of the most fantastic days I have ever had. In my “real world”, I don’t get the chance to discuss with other people the important stuff. I am surrounded by many people who are not awake to the realities of the world. Having the opportunity to sit as a community, together, and just discuss all of the important things, was a gift that I treasure more than they can know. A piece of my heart is now forever in Georgia. ♥️
Fantastic. Being a native Georgian. I can second your thoughts.
Maybe these types og "gatherings" are what we all need these days. It will give us hope that we can take back our lives and country.
Jennifer, you inspire all of us with your dedication. ❤️
It is wonderful that you were able to have this experience! I can only imagine how lonely and frustrating it must be to be surrounded by those who cannot, or refuse, to see what the world is facing. Keep up the INCREDIBLE work!!!
