The “Sound of Freedom”
We just returned home from watching the late showing of the “Sound of Freedom”.
This movie is profound. It is certainly not the feel good movie of the year by any means. But is a brutally honest based on a true story portrayal of the sex trafficking of God’s precious children.
I strongly encourage each of you to go watch this in the theater. Over 5 million tickets have been purchased so far, and it beat out the likes of Disney’s remake of Indiana Jones as the top box office film over July 4th.
The most profound and heartbreaking statistics in the film are the end (stay for the special message 2 minutes after the end of the film). The UNITED STATES is the NUMBER ONE consumer of child pornography and trafficked children. They import children from other parts of the world into OUR COUNTRY because we pay for it. Child pornography images on the internet have grown by more than 5000% over the last 5 years. Pedophiles walk among us every single day, and we have no idea.
I left the theater with tears streaming down my face. It is difficult not to be overcome with emotion watching this movie.

I think it is a fantastic thing that this movie is igniting the conversation around the horrors of child trafficking. However, this movie cuts very short of documenting the many significant perpetrators of these crimes. The funding is also very suspect.
