This year, I hope to focus more on articles such as this: how can consumers receive the best care, not just the managed care, that insurance dictates.
If you know anyone who has had a baby lately, ask them what their insurance bills were for their vaginal or c-section. Then compare it to what this hospital charges for self pay. You will be shocked.
For the record, my office self pay rates are also cheaper than what insurance coding requires us to submit to them. What we send to insurance isn’t our decision, it is what insurance companies dictate we submit. They are all different.
