Last month, the story broke about Girl Scout Cookies. While they may be a guilty pleasure for a sweet tooth, what was found in them will make you decide to never eat one again.
In a study by Moms Across America, https://www.momsacrossamerica.com/danger_in_the_dough
In the cookies tested, the following was found:
100% of the samples were positive for glyphosate
100% were positive for toxic metals
22 out of 25 (88%) of samples were positive for all 5 toxic metals
76% were positive for levels of cadmium that exceed EPA limits in water
24 out of 25 (96%) of samples were positive for lead
The lawsuit alleges that the Scouts, plus the bakers of the cookies, failed to notify the public about the toxic risks found in their cookies, and did not include safety warnings on the packaging of the cookies. Joe Rogan reported the dangers of the metals in the cookies on one of his episodes in February. It has now gained traction on all social media forums. They are seeking $5million in damages to be paid to people who purchased the cookies. The Moms Across America is requesting that non GMO products be used starting in 2026, and packaging needs to reflect the dangerous toxins in the cookies.
I will have an easier time staying away from the Lemonades this year.
I was always dismayed that a national positive youth development organization sold an unhealthy product to make money. I objected to buying them on these grounds and all of the people in my life called me a shrew. It is the same reaction I get from some people when I objected to Budweiser which is laced with corn additive.
I’ll line up for a piece of that lawsuit. I am guilty of having purchased and consumed 2 boxes of Thin Mints this year. Yikes!
