This is something I can actually support. We have various other at home screenings (colon cancer), and many women forego their Pap tests for various reasons.
The company who developed these tests “appear” to have studied it well, had women self exam at home, then had a healthcare provider do an in office exam as well, and the results were the same more than 95% of the time. This supports that women are able to procure their own sample accurately, and avoid the trip to the OBGYN office for a pap. It also gives women control over who and what and when something invasive is being done. Many women LOATHE getting a Pap test done.
Wanna see who IS NOT ok with this? This commenter. See the one lonely comment below. They wanna make sure they get their office visit pay for a Pap test. I wonder what his persons false positive Pap test average is? How often do they escalate women to care they do not need? They really just don’t want to lose the bread and butter cases, and don’t want to have to deal with the difficult cases only.

I am one of those people who are now firmly in the camp of 'they only do this to make money on follow up tests, treatments/therapies and more visits.' "They" being the pharma conglomerates and their paid minions (the healthcare pros who are paid to make quotas of submissives).
I will probably be killed by all the silent killers out there IRL because my trust is gone.
