I decided to go digging into who the top lobby groups are during the 2024 election cycle. The grilling of RFK Jr by people who have taken in large amounts of pharma dollars led to my curiosity.
So, the top 10 list of lobby group donors in 2024:
What is concerning here is that in the top 10, there are 6 that are tied to healthcare. Blue Cross/Blue Shield? Donating $20+ million?
The American Medical Association (AMA) really piqued my curiosity. Because they are a mouth foaming set of rabid dogs that want their agenda as a top priority. Below is their top 10 donation recipients:
No surprise here. Healthcare is very blue. They also know who they can control on the opposite side of the aisle and contribute accordingly.
Of further interest….look at the last 20 year trend in congress:
In the House: Notice how the demographic of donating shifted over 20 years. It was widely red in the 1990’s. And then suddenly in 2006-2008 it swung blue. And while that did rebound slightly in 2010, they have been fairly equal since.
The senate is even more interesting. Same nosedive to the opposite party in 2008. Then it shifted again with the first Trump administration.
If you ever wondered just how corrupt both sides of the aisle truly are when it comes to the medical industrial complex……..there you have it. But remember, we are supposed to drop the politics now and just play nice in the sandbox.
The vast majority of members of both houses of Congress leave office with a lot more money than they had before they were elected. What did they "sell" for this money? They sold the only thing they can. An unfair advantage for one person (corporation) over their competition. That is what the tax code is. The IRS sole purpose if to make sure the persons buying our Representatives and Senators get their money's worth. The tax code and the accompanying regulation is so out of control that it would take more than 150 reams of paper to print it. >75,000 pages. That is how many "favors" our elected representatives have sold. In the process they sell us down the river. Make no mistake, our Congress Persons want us dead, but they want to fleece us first. Don't get me started on the State and Local levels as well. Then there are the HOAs...
