Supporting documentation for the circulation of Covid in the fall of 2019: the presence of SARS-CoV2 found in sewage in fall 2019 in Brazil

The first reported cases of COVID-19, caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) were described in Wuhan City, China in December 2019 (WHO, 2020). However, there is evidence to suggest that the virus had already been circulating a few months previously (Nsoesie et al., 2020). The first diagnosed COVID-19 case in the Americas was reported on 21st January 2020 in the USA (on 25th February in Brazil).
Urban raw sewage samples were collected in the city of Florianopolis, Santa Catarina, Brazil (Supplementary Material Fig. 1) from a sewage system in central Florianopolis, serving a population of approximately 5000 inhabitants, in 6 independent sampling events from 30th October 2019 until 4th March 2020.
We now know that there was covid 19 in sewage samples on 11-27-2019 in Brazil. And the log based cases remained fairly steady until April 2020 when they rose. SARS-CoV-2 RNA was detected as early as 27th November 2019, 56 days in advance of the first COVID-19 confirmed case in the Americas (in the USA), 91 days in advance of the first case in Brazil, and 97 days in advance of the first confirmed case in Santa Catarina Region. This demonstrates that SARS-CoV-2 was being shed within the community for several months prior to the first cases being reported by regional, national or Pan-American authorities. Therefore, our findings point that SARS-CoV-2 was circulating unnoticed in the community for some months before pandemic status was declared. Our results also show that the SARS-CoV-2 load remained constant until early March, then rose coinciding with the onset of COVID-19 cases in the Santa Catarina region.
The power of social media, I STILL REMEMBER people speaking out in the spring of 2020 that they were positive they had covid that fall of 2019. And there were so many doubters that told them the “mainstream media” was reporting that there was NO WAY that could be the case, covid was “definitely” not here before January 2020, and these people were crazy to say they had covid before we knew what covid was. Turns out, a lot of them were probably right. They probably DID have covid before we knew what covid even was.
The poop studies don’t lie.
They still can't admit this because it blows up the entire narrative. The fact is that the virus was here in fall 2019 and we didn't even notice it all winter long until a few of our governors mandated a covid outbreak in every nursing home.
And during winter 2019 we were traveling, getting together with family, going out to bars and basketball games -- all the stuff they told us was too dangerous to do in 2020 into 2021.
My wife and I were deathly sick between Thansgiving and Christmas of 2019. We had all the hallmark sympotoms of a lower respiratory infection with the magnitude of a cytokine storm event. I could only survive by putting myself in a prone position with my head positioned over the foot of the bed for hours at a time. Brutal. Testing failures at the CDC level made investigatory efforts to determine an origin futile. Testing still stinks.
