To this day people scream to me that Wakefield was “proven” to be a fraud. A repeated accusation from a slanderous reporter, Brian Deer, turned into proven fact somehow. For those people It’s more comfortable to live in ignorance and refuse to read his paper that clearly said more research into the autism connection was necessary. Excellent work.

I gave this post a like by the third sentence. :)

I have never had a flu vaccine. The last time I had anything like a flu was 1984. I had a severely broken heart over the unexpected, untimely death of the center of my universe -- my mother. I kept to my plans to leave my job in NYC and return to school to complete my bachelor degree. So, within weeks, I'd quit, moved, and found myself alone living off-campus near the school I was to attend. Once all that settled down, I "collapsed". It felt flu-like (didn't go to a doctor or get "tested), so just took care of myself as my mother had taught me, and in short order, I was back on my feet, albeit still with a broken heart.

As a child born in the late 50's, I had the usual bout with all the usual childhood "diseases" -- measles, mumps, chicken pox, and even strep throat. In 1987 I was set to graduate. In Feb of that year, some kid living on campus came down with the measles. I thought nothing of it -- until I got the notice that SUNY Albany was ordering everyone to get a measles "vaccine". Well, I don't need one of those, I thought. I've already had the measles. To the white coats on campus, this didn't matter -- unless I could prove it. I called my father to ask if "Mom" had kept any of our childhood records. If not, could you call Dr. "X" (our GP). Father couldn't find any records and that doctor was unreachable. (Not sure if he died, moved away, etc., but regardless, couldn't find him.)

So. If I wanted to return to campus to complete my last semester and graduate in May, I had to get injected. (Not sure if in 1987 a test was available to see if I had antibodies..? If there was, no one told about it. If they had, I would have done that.) So. As I stood in that degrading long line, I swore to myself that I would never, ever, 𝑒𝑣𝑒𝑟 let anyone force a medical intervention on me ever again.

𝑬𝑽𝑬𝑹.
