Christmas season is bittersweet this year.
In my professional world, the season leading to Christmas is generally a very busy and chaotic time. Many people struggle this time of the year due to illness, financial stressors, mourning the death of a loved one, family estrangement, seasonal changes making it dark at 5pm, election and political spats and disagreements, and there are even still a few covid shot holdouts that won’t gather with unvaccinated people. And there are unvaccinated people that are still very mad at their vaccinated family that refused to gather together in 2020-2022 due to their no covid vaccine, and therefore no longer celebrate with family. This isn’t a season that is kind to everyone, nor a season that everyone looks forward to with happiness and enthusiasm. Many are happy to see December 25th come and go.
However!!!
This year the above concerns still exist but as a patient put it very well a few days ago, “this year people feel hopeful and encouraged for the first time in a long time”. Which translated into this season of Christmas being pretty tame. Very few crises. Very few severe issues. It was pretty much business as normal which was a pleasant surprise. As I left my office on December 23rd and bid 2024 goodbye professionally, I reminisced on what a really great year this has been. I feel like I left my office world a better place than I found it on January 1st of 2024. I do feel that people are more hopeful and more encouraged about the new year ahead of us.
As we gather with our family and friends, and celebrate the holiday season, be kind to each other. Give a little extra hug to someone who needs it. Remember that God designed us to be kind. Do no harm.
I am taking the next week off to enjoy some much needed R&R as we prepare to say hello to 2025! This year I am thankful for all of you on this journey. We are approaching 3 years of Holding the Line! I am excited for 2025 and the ability to report on the amazing changes I hope we see, such as vaccine testing for safety against a true placebo, cleaning up our poisonous food, healthcare reform that focuses on health and not illness, learning more about natural ways to treat health ailments, and holding the swamp accountable for the chaos they have caused to American’s for over 100 years.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and yours. See you all in 2025!
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
My BIL, a pharmaceutical consultant just told me this year's flu season sucks - they're losing money as sickness is behind schedule.
Just thinking about it now, the ads were gearing up for the flu season weeks ago... I guess "flu season" is just like "Christmas season" in the ad merry-go-round.
I think I'll just spite them and stay healthy.
Merry Christmas and a very happy and prosperous New Year, to you and your family.
Hope you get some riding in over your time off. 🙂
