Happy Thanksgiving!!!

As the day we give thanks for all we are blessed with…….I am thankful for all of you!!

May all of you enjoy your time with family, friends, great food, football, and all the things you love and give thanks for.

May we remember the people that are working today to keep each of us safe. Every deployed soldier, EMT, police officer, firefighter, and yes even the corrupt healthcare regime that is on the ready for a fried turkey injury or other ailment.

May God give grace and patience as we gather for the first “post election” holiday. There are guaranteed to be families struggling today with differing political opinions, people thankful for what happened November 5th, and others who are very upset. May the opposition find it in their heart to make today what it is, a day of celebrating family and giving thanks, and not cause a dispute or an argument. May the conservatives be gracious and kind. Also know your boundaries and do not tolerate outright obtuse behavior. Saying no and stop it are perfectly acceptable.

May we pray for and keep those who have the “empty chair” at the table today. I have so very many patients who have lost a loved one or numerous loved ones this year. For many, this is the first holiday without a dearly departed loved one. They need extra compassion and grace from God as today is a very emotional and difficult day. Give them an extra hug today.

May we give thanks for the new people at our table today. Last weekend, I gained a new nephew when my niece got married. We are so very lucky to have him in our family now. May we all extend an invitation to someone who is celebrating alone and ask them to join our family table.

May we give the greatest glory to the heavens for HIM making today possible, for blessing each of us with another day, and for teaching us to trust HIM when all things seem impossible.

I am taking the weekend off to spend some fun time with my family. See you all on Monday!
