A little break from the norm…..I found the only remaining Blockbuster video rental on the planet.
Healthcare during the pandemic has been about 27 dumpster fires all going on at the same time. You put one out, another becomes in inferno. Rinse and repeat. Historically, mental health is a little more “calm” in the late spring/early summer time frame. It is sunny, warmer, and people tend to feel better. So it is the easiest time as a provider to unplug and take a vacation.
We all have our ways of recharging. Mine is riding a Harley. Across the country. My goal has been to ride my Harley in all of the 48 CONUS states. We never let covid stop us from Harley traveling; in fact, we traveled to the Great Lakes, across the southwest to California, and across the New England states to Maine since covid “began”. With 7 states left to ride to complete the 48 state challenge, the adventure we are on right now is the Pacific Northwest. June 2nd would have been my grandfathers 107th birthday. He fiercely fought for our country in WWII, and has always been one of my role models. And traveled the entire world during his time in the military. So in honor of grandpa…….and a much needed unplug from my office……and to finishing off riding all of the 48 states before we roll back home into our driveway…..here are some views from the past few days on the first leg of the journey! Idaho and Oregon. Back to regular healthcare programming tomorrow! And yes, the Blockbuster still smells like the Blockbuster from the good ol’ days. It was a step back in time!
